Bio

Contemporary Solo Pianist Dan Kennedy (b. 1970) has performed in 23 U.S. states, and Québec province. Since his Will Ackerman-produced EP LANTERN debuted in 2007, Dan has received play on 250 radio stations, and 850,000 internet spins. Winner of a 2022 Global Music Award, the 2019 Enlightened Piano Radio Album of the Year, a Best Album nomination from OWM, a SENE Film Fest selection, and an RNA Video of the Month, his recordings have spent as many as 7 consecutive months on the ZMR Top 100. “Music reminds us to make room for joy. Let’s go there — again.”

Dan’s chamber music has been performed by the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Essex Chamber Music Players, at the Summer Institute for Contemporary Piano Performance, and at the Aspen Music Festival. Classically trained at the Oberlin and New England Conservatories, Kennedy has always written music that is rhythmically strong and tonally accessible. He has released 10 albums of Solo Piano music.

Situated on the coast of Maine, Dan still works to improve and perfect his composing style. “I find renewal in the natural world, taking walks in the surrounding valley, but I am equally at home with a latté and a scone down at the Wi-Fi bakery. I love to create music that is visual, emotional, and instantly enjoyed.”
